– 01 Arrive Delhi

Arrive Delhi by International flight.
A history which encompasses all the various kings and emperors who fixed their royal citadels here– Indraprastha, Lal Kot, Quila Rai Pithora, Siri, Jahanpanah, Tughlakabad, Ferozabad, Dinpanah,
Delhi Sher Shahi or then Shahjahanabad. but, combined and integrated into one, these ‘new cities’ have always been called Delhi and howsoever many names it may have acquired, Delhi has always been intrinsically identified with power and imperial sway.
You will be met on your arrival by the representative of Exotique Expeditions with fresh flower garlands. You will then be transferred to your hotel.

DAY – 02 Delhi – Agra ( 202 Kms / 126 Miles)
Breakfast at the hotel.
This morning leave Delhi for Agra by road.
Afternoon you will be given the city tour of Agra.

Visit TAJ MAHAL (Closed on Fridays) – located on the bank of Yamuna River, the most extravagant
monument ever built for love. Little needs to be said about this architectural wonder which is always the soul raison-de-etre for every tourist’s visit to Agra. Built by Shah Jahan, the Taj is a white marble memorial to his beautiful wife Mumtaz Mahal. This monument took 22 years to be completed and was designed and planned by Persian architect Ustad Isa. Apart from it’s stunning design balance and perfect symmetry, the Taj is also noted particularly forits elegant domes, intricately carved screens and some of the best inlay work ever seen.
Red Fort – lies on the bend of the river Yamuna, almost in the heart of the town. Akbar built
it as his citadel over the years 1563-73 in the finest architectural style. It has imposing gates and walls of red sandstone and a moat

DAY – 03 Agra – Jhansi (By Train) & Jhansi – Khajuraho (172 Kms / 108 Miles)

Transfer to Agra railway station to connect your train for Jhansi. Arrive Jhansi transferred to Khajuraho.
Khajuraho is known for its magnificient temples which are among the most creative examples of the indian architecture. Built between 950 and 1050 A.D., only 22 temples out of 85 now survive, Khajuraho sclupture is sublime and sensuous, the centre of new imagery in art. The popular theme is woman: Reflective, Playful Amorous. The carving also depict Griffins, Nymphs, Beasts, Demons in revolt, Gods in cosmic evolution, fear, doubt, jealousy, ardent love and consummatepassion.

KhajurahoDAY- 04 In Khajuraho

This morning, you will be visiting the temples in Khajuraho.
Visit the world famous Chandela Temples. Out of the total 85 temples only 22 remain, but offer a beautiful and extravagant ode to human life.
Built in 10th and 11th centuries, these temples are dedicated to a particular deity and the on the outer walls are carved various themes, but actually it is an ode to woman hood, an ode to fertility, the form of birth and an ode to greatest form of life.
Of the two groups of temples – Western and Eastern – important temples to visit are – Kandariya Mahadev, Chaunsath Yogini, Chitragupta, Lakshmana, Devi Jagdamba, Parvati, Vishvanath Temple and Nandi, Paraswanath and Adinath.

DAY – 05 Khajuraho – Varanasi ( 418 Kms / 261 Miles )

Leave Khajuraho for Varanasi
Varanasi or Banaras is one of the oldest cities of India. This city has found place in the Buddhist scriptures as well the epic of Mahabharata. In Pali language Varanasi was called Banarasi hence it got the name ‘Banaras’. Varanasi is also called ‘Kashi‘ or the city of spiritual light. Kashi is the place where Shiva and Parvati stood when the “time started ticking.

Vranasi GhatDAY – 06 In Varanasi
Breakfast at the hotel.
Early morning, leave for boat ride on the Ganges to see the bathing Ghats (river bank) & cremation site. Sunrise on the riverfront, as seen from a boat, can be a spiritually uplifting sight. The life on the Ghats bound in an endless string of rituals, ever-changing aspects of the river & the wide landscape across have fascinated visitors from all over the world. Return to the hotel for breakfast.
City tour of Varanasi – Visit the Bharat Mata temple with a big relief map of India in Marble, Durga temple, Tulsi Manas Mandir, Benaras Hindu University which has an art gallery & the mosque of Moghul Emperor Aurangzeb.
Excursion to Sarnath – the buried Buddhist city where Buddha preached his first sermon. After attaining enlightenment at Bodh Gaya the Buddha went to Sarnath; and it was here that he preached his first
discourse in the deer park to set in motion the ‘Wheel of the Dharma’. It is one of the most holy sites as in this place the stream of the Buddha’s teaching first flowed. Sarnath was a renowned school of learning from 16th century BC to 12th century AD. Visit the ruins, the stupa, the Buddhist temple & the museum (closed on Fridays). At the museum is the Ashok Pillar with its four guardian lions, used as independent India’s national emblem.

DAY – 07 Varanasi – Kathmandu ( By Air )

Transfer to the airport in time to connect flight for Kathmandu.
Kathmandu is the capital of the kingdom of Nepal, situated in a valley which is an open air museum of famous sites, ancient temples and shrines, golden pagodas and are inspiring deities, is a city of inexhaustible historic artistic and cultural interest. Several beautiful and interesting villages and towns surrounding the valley offer ideal destinations for mini treks. The dazzling Himalayan peaks are visible from several points on the mountains around the valley

DAY – 08 In Kathmandu

This morning you will be given the tour of Kathmandu city and Patan.
Kathmandu – Known as Kantipur, the capital of the Kingdom of Nepal. It is also knwon a s “City of Temples” Here you will visit the
temple of the Living Goddess who acknowledges the greetings of the devotees from the balcony of her temple residence. Kashtamandap – thesource of the name Kathmandu and supposed to be made from the timber of a single tree and the Durbar Square are with its array of temples overlooked by the Hanuman Dhoka Palace, the ancient place of the Nepalese Royalty.
Patan – 5 kms away from Kathmandu City. Patan also known as Lalitpur, is the city of fine arts, enclosed within 4 stupas said to be built in 3rd century AD, by Emperor Ashoka. You will see the Durbar square; the Krishna Temple built by Kind Siddhi Narsingh Malla, Hiranya Varna Mabavihar and MahadouddhaTemple. A trip to The Tibetan Refugee Camp and the Handicraft Center will also be done while visiting Patan, where you will witness the hand weaving of Tibetan carpets and mounding of metal statues

DAY – 09 In Kathmandu
Breakfast at the hotel.
Morning tour of Bhaktapur, Pashupatinath and Bodhnath.
Proceed onto Bodhnath, the largest stupa in the world where from a towering golden pinnacle the painted eyes of the all-seeing Buddha gaze across the valley in every direction, then proceed onto the Pashupatinath temple situated on the banks of Bagmati temple which is the most holy temples of the entire Hindu world. As entrance into the temple precint is permitted to Hindus only, visitors can clearly see the temple and the activities performed in the temple premises from the eastern bank of the Bagmati river. A sight of cremation being performed on the banks of the river is very common.

Kathmandu – Delhi ( By Air )

DAY – 11 Depart Delhi

Morning is at leisure. Check out from the hotel at 12 Noon.
You will be given combined city tour of Old and New Delhi.
Old Delhi – It wast the centre of Mughal Power, Old Delhi offers large number of monuments, narrow streets and bustling bazaars including meena bazaar. Drive past the vast Red Fort, built in 1648 by Mughul Emperor Shah Jahan, the Jama Masjid, the greatest mosque in India and completed in 1658 by Shah Jahan who also built the Taj Mahal. The Raj Ghat, the simple memorial to Mahatma Gandhi.
New Delhi – drive past the stately Government Buildings of theBritish Era designed by Lutyens, including the India Gate, Lotus Temple, Akshardham Temple, Birla Mandir ( Also Known as Laxmi Narayan Temple ) & the Presidential Palace. Continue onto the beautiful Humayuns tomb of the Mughal era & predecessor of the world famous Taj Mahal. End the tour at the towering minaret of Qutab Minar
Evening You will be met by the representative of Exotique Expeditions and transferred to the airport, in time to connect your onward flight.
